After the loss to Hall Road Rangers in the previous fixture, it was important Pock looked to get back on track as quickly as possible.
Pock started on the front foot as both sides tried to work each other out in the opening 5 minutes. In the 7th minute the opposition goalkeeper came out to clear a loose ball, but Chris Dempsey pounced to round the goalkeeper and finish into the open goal. Pock continued to work hard and put pressure on the opposition without making any clear cut chances. Ryan Caulfield had the best opportunity to double the lead after intercepting a pass from the defender. As he was running through on goal, a defender pulled Caulfied back, stopping the striker as he was through 1 on 1 with the keeper. Unfortunately the referee waved play on as his view was obstructed by a player. This seemed to be the wake up call Cherry Burton needed. Despite Pock looking comfortable upto this point the Home side grew in confidence in the final 15 minutes of the first half and Craig Coxall made a very good save tipping over the bar.
Half Time: 0-1
The second half was very scrappy with the ball going from end to end without any real chances for either side. This was until Cherry Burton scored but the goal was ruled out for offside. The Home side continued to ask questions, but like Pock, couldn't create any clear cut chances. In the 80th minute Luke Cranswick headed goalwards from a corner which the keeper made a save but unfortunately for him, Dempsey reacted the quickest to fire home the rebound from a tight angle to finish the game.
Full Time: 0-2
Goals: Dempsey 7,80
Two games on the road for Pock so far this season have resulted in two wins and two clean sheets. It wasn't pretty at times but they got the job done. The lads know there is a lot more to come from this team and they need to put the hard work in at training to start to move forward.
Chrysalis MOTM: Joseph Cooney - an engine in midfield, read the game well and broke down the opposition attacks on a regular basis. A job that often goes unnoticed.
