A difficult afternoon against Hall Rd Rangers.
The two teams started the game trying to figure each other out and it was Pocklington who had the best chances of the first 15 minutes, however because of not sticking to our shape it was Hall Rd Rangers who capitalized to go 1-0 up.
Pocklington then faltered and didn't stick to the game plan that ultimately made the team come under pressure from Hall Rd for the remainder of the first half and with only 5 mins til halftime the visitors scored twice to see pocklington go into the break 3 down.
After the break and this time sticking to the game plan it was Pocklington who took the initiative and took the game to Hall Rd Rangers and subsequently got a goal back.
It was all Pock now and they looked troubled which lead to a mistake and Pocklington Town's 2nd. Unfortunately what followed was not a good advert for football and after trying to retrieve the ball quickly from the goal mouth and some handbags at dawn violent outbursts 2 players were sent off and both teams down to 10 men each.
Unfortunately Hall Rd collected themselves quicker and scored a fourth goal putting the game to bed.
Finished Pocklington Town 2 Hall Rd Rangers 4
This is only the second game of the season, but I'm sure lessons will be learnt about sticking to game plans and trusting decisions by managers and take these onto training and the remaining fixtures.
Next up is 3rd September 2pm away against Cherry Burton.
