Pocklington U13's Girls - get their First WIN!! 🏆⚽️🔴⚫️

A really special day!!!

Yes it really really does mean that much!!!!!!!! These girls have kept their heads high all season despite the losses. They have always congratulated their opposition and behaved with impeccable sportsmanship! So very proud of them for their FIRST WIN of the season against a team who are well up in our division!! Well Done Team!!!

A cold and windy start on a Saturday morning. Pocklington u13s vs Brooklyn u13s.

Kick off saw Brooklyn have an early advantage as they scored within the first two minutes of the game.

Pocklington continued to battle but conceded another two goals.

Just then our new transfer Laura blasted a goal ⚽️into the back of the net.

Brooklyn scored again with the score 4-1, but just a few moments later Chloe scored her first goal ⚽️ of the season with an assist from Laura.

Two minutes later Laura scored again.⚽️

At half time the score was 3-4, a goal record for Pocklington .

Into the second half Pocklington definitely had a fighting spirit. Battling for the ball and keeping it mostly in the opposition's half. Lots of shots on goal saw Laura powered through with an impressive run from halfway to score a hat trick! ⚽️

The coaches and the parents were elated that we could finish with a draw and earn our first point of the season.

A powerful run saw Izzy skilfully hold onto the ball and with a megs score the winner. ⚽️

Even with the goals being the highlight this is team sport and every player gave 100% today with the defence being spot on keeping it away, although Georgia saved 23 goals 🧤🧤. Midfield running up and down. Wingers battling it into the opposite half. And our upfront girls passing it through and fighting to win the ball.

We're so proud of the team and for never giving up. Brooklyn are a super team. They were brilliantly matched today.

Thankyou to the parents for supporting and helping set up and clear away.

Thankyou to James Jackson for reffing.
